BEANS CURRY

INGREDIENTS

Beans - 2 cups (chopped )

Coconut powder - 1 cup ( dry grated )

Oil - 2 tbsp

Mustrad - 1 tbsp

Cumin - 1 tbsp

Urad dal - 1 tbsp

Chana dal - 1 tbsp

Curry leaves - 10 nos

Turmeric - 1/4 tsp

Redchillies - 3 nos

Salt - 2 tsp

PREPARATION

Wash the cut beans and microwave cook for 10 min.Put tadka i.e . Heat oil in a pan and add mustard once they sizzle add cumin , urad dal and chana dal and fry to golden. Now add red chillies and curry leaves and fry well.

Then add the cooked beans to the tadka . Mix well and add salt and turmeric along with coconut powder and mix well.

 

Cook for 5 min put off the flame. Serves well with rice and chapathi our staple food.

    Beans curry looks yummy……
    i tried beans curry recipe by cooking beans in microwave.i cooked beans for 10 mins without adding water.They got burnt at the bottom. Could you tell me how you cook in microwave?

    Hi Neeharika ,
    Probably you have to reduce the time of cooking .. Tell me if the beans got cooked on the top ?
    As you said they got burnt at the bottom I think they were cooked too long .
    Did u use frozen ? or did u cut and try fresh beans .
    Just try reducing the time for 5 min and check if they are cooked.
    If not increase the time in gradually 2 min at a time and keep checking.
    I used frozen ones so may be thats the reason they took more time.
    I will mention from now on if I use frozen.Try and let me know I think this time you should be able to make it ..

    hi lakshmi
    i used fresh beans.they got cooked at the top and burnt at the bottom.When i took out the beans from microwave,they had become too small.they might be cooked too long.u r right.next time i will try by reducing the time.

    Hi Neeharika
    Most of the time infact all the time I microwave vegetables in order to save cooking time .
    So my microwave cooks vegetables pretty soon at a short time. If you happen to try and check on your microwave it will surely be easy for you .
