Posted November 9th, 2007 by Lakshmi Pamidimukkala

INGREDIENTS

Maida - 3 cups

Sugar - 1 cup

Roasted chanadal - 1 cup

Dry fruits - 1 cup

Grated drycoconut - 1 cup

Baking soda - 1/4 tsp

Salt - 1/2 tsp

Oil - for deep frying

Cardmom powder - 1 tbsp

PREPARATION

Mix the maida and soda well , with enough water and make a dough as we make for poori or chapathi.

Break nuts into small pieces and add them to roasted chana dal powder , dry grated coconut powder , sugar and cardmom powder . Make a mix.

Take small ball of the dough and roll it into a poori .

Then take a spoon full of the dry fruit stuff and put it on the poori.

Carefully fold the other half of the poori onto the dry fruit mix and blend the sides along making sure there is no opening anywhere.

Repeat the process to complete the dough. Heat oil and fry them.

Fry them to golden red . Put them on paper towels to remove excess oil .

One of the sweets made for Diwali …or any big festival …
