TOMATO CURRY

  • INGREDIENTS
  • Tomatoes - 10 -15 nos
  • Chanadal - 1/2 cup
  • Uraddal - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander seeds - 1 cup
  • Dry grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Redchillies - a hand full
  • Salt - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger garlic - equal amounts ( 4 garlic pods = amount of ginger )
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander - 1/4 bunch
  • Onions - 2 nos
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • PREPARATION
  • Wash and microwave cook tomatoes for 10 min.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry chana dal , urad dal , coriander seeds , ginger garlic pieces and onions sliced along with dry grated coconut .
  • Onions need to be fried well to red. Allow it to cool completely and grind it into fine paste adding salt and water.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil and fry tomatoes adding cumin and turmeric . Now add the gravy to the tomatoes.
  • Mix well and add coriander .S
  • Serve hot with roti or rice.
  • Cooking time : 15 - 20 min
  • Serving size - 4 people
  • Flame - medium
