UPPUDU PINDI

INGREDIENTS

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Moong dal - 1 cup
  • Dry grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Mustard -1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tbsp
  • Redchillies - 4 - 5 nos
  • Curry leaves - 10 nos
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1tbsp
  • Water - 500 ml

PREPARATION

  • Grind the rice into coarse rawa . Add moong dal or pesara pappu and dry grated coconut to it and set aside.
  • Put tadka in oil and add water to it and salt and allow it to boil.
  • Parallelly heat ghee in apan and fry the rawa along with moong dal to golden red.
  • Once the water boils add the rawa to it and let it cook on a medium flame .
  • Keep a lid and cook for about 15 min.
  • Once cooked serve hot with palli chutney .
  • Cooking time - 25 min . Serving size - 10 persons

    i love uppudu pindi.My grand mother used to make this.she used to make this with only ravva.u have added moong dal also.i will try this soon…………
