RASAM

INGREDIENTS

 

  • Tomatoes - 2 nos
  • Tamarind  puree - 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery - 2 cubes ( small ones)
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Corianderpowder - 1 tbsp
  • Rasam powder - 1 tbsp
  • Greenchillies - 5 - 6 nos
  • Curry leaves - 6 -10 nos
  • Coriander - 1/4 bunch
  • Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Oil - for tadka - 1 tbsp
  • Asfoetida - 1/4 tsp

PREPARATION

 

 

  • Wash and cut tomatoes  and green chillies .
  • Put tadka and add asfoetida to it . also add curry leaves to it.
  • Fry them for a while and add water with tamarind puree dissolved in it.
  • Boil the rasam for 10 - 15 min on medium flame.
  • Add turmeric , salt , coriander powder and rasam powder .
  • Boil on high flame for 5 min and add jaggery .
  • Now add chopped coriander and put off the flame.
  • Serve hot with hot rice.
  • Serving size - 5 -6 persons . Preparation time -30 min.
