SORAKAYA / BOTTLE GOURD GRAVY CURRY

INGREDIENTS

 

  • SORAKAYA - 1 NO
  • COCONUT - 1 CUP(DRY GRATED OR FRESH )
  • CURD - 2 CUPS
  • POPPY SEEDS - 1/2 CUP
  • SALT - 11/2 TBSP
  • GINGERGARLIC PASTE - 1TSP EA
  • CURRY LEAVES - 5 - 6 NOS
  • URADDAL - 1/2 TSP
  • CHANA DAL - 1/2 TSP
  • MUSTARD - 1TSP
  • CUMIN - 1 TSP
  • REDCHILLIES - 2 NOS
  • OIL - 1 TBSP

PREPARATION

 

 

 

 

  • WASH AND PEEL OFF THE BOTTLE GOURD AND MAKE BIG PIECES OF THE SAME.
  • PUT TADKA AND ADD THE BOTTLE GOURD PIECES TO IT , ADD 1/2TBSP OF SALT AND COOK THEM.
  • PUT A LID IN ORDER TO COOK THEM FAST.
  • GRIND POPPY SEEDS AND THEN GRIND COCONUT AND ADD CURDS TO IT WITH 1 TBSP OF SALT.
  • ADD GINGER GARLIC PASTE TO THE GRAVY , GRIND WELL .
  • POUR IT OVER THE BOTTLEGOURD PIECES .
  • COOK FOR 5 MIN . PUT OFF FROM FLAME AND SERVE HOT WITH RICE.
  • PREPARATION TIME - 15 MIN, SERVES - 6 - 8 PERSONS.
