MANGO DAL // MAMIDIKAYA PAPPU
- PREPARATION
- Wash and cut mango into pieces which must be 1/2 the amount of dal we wish to cook .
- Wash tuvar dal and mix mango pieces and add 3 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles .
- Add green chillies to the same if you wish .
- Heat oil ina panput tadka and add asfoetida to it along with curry leaves.
- Mix the cooked dal well mash it if necessary and add turmeric,salt and redchilli powder to the same.
- Add the mashed dal to the tadka . Also add amchur powder to it and cook on medium flame for 5 min.
- If you wish to have the dal dilute please add water and leave it for 5 min.
- Put off the flame and serve hot with rice .

umm…. manga dal is mouth watering…….
will try it soon.but the problem is i am not able to find sour mangoes.every time i buy,mango will be sweet in taste.

Hi Neeharika,
I buy frozen ones. And add amchur it will be sour.
