ALOO BONDA

INGREDIENTS

  • Besan - 3 cups
  • Aloo/Potatoes - 6nos
  • Green Chillies -6-8 nos
  • Onions - 2 nos
  • GaramMasala - 1tsp
  • Salt - 21/2 tsp
  • Redchilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Oil - deep frying
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
  • Eating soda - 1/4 tsp

PREPARATION

   

  • Wash and cut potatoes into 4 pieces each and pressure cook all the pieces for 2 to 3 whisltes.
  • Allow to cool compltely by straining away water.
  • Chop onions and green chillies .Once the potatoes become cool , peel them off and mash them well.
  • In  2 tbsp of oil , deep fry onions and greeen chillies.
  • Now add the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  • Add salt, garam masala , redchilli powder, turmeric  and chopped coriander and mix well.
  • Allow it to cool completely and make balls as shown..
  • Heat oil for deep frying .
  • Mix besan , 1tsp redchilli powder , 1 tsp salt and eating soda and turmeric  and make batter of good consistency ( semi soft).
  • Dip the balls in the besan batter and deep fry them to golden brown.
  • Serve with tomato sauce..
  • Preparation time - 30 min … Serving size - 25 persons.
