POTLAKAYA TELAGAPINDI KURA // SNAKEGOURD CURRY

INGREDIENTS

  • Potlakaya chopped - 1pc
  • Telaga pindi - 1/2cup
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Chanadal - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1tsp
  • Curry leaves - 6 nos
  • Garlic - 2 pods

PREPARATION

     

  • Micro wave cook snake gourd and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put tadka .
  • Now add the snake gourd pieces and curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now add salt and turmeric and add telaga pindi to it.
  • Mix well and cook till soft .
  • Transfer into another vessel and now in the same vessel, heat oil and fry chopped garlic to red.
  • Now add this to the curry and serve hot with rice.
  • Preparation time - 25 min, Serving size - 4 persons.

    Hi Vijaya

    Telaga pindi is used only for women who just delivered a baby. I don’t prepare it here.
    I happened to get a pack from India and I used this as I needed to update a recipe on that.
    This is a remain of oil from ganugu if you know about that. That remain they grind it with jeela karra , red chilli and a little salt. You don’t get it in US.I hope this helps…
