JANTIKALU OR MURUKULU

INGREDIENTS

  • Rice Flour - 3 cups
  • Besan - 1 cup
  • Vamu / ajwain  - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tbsp
  • Redchilli powder - 11/2 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Butter - 1 cup

PREPARATION

          

   

  •  Mix rice flour , besan ,vamu , salt and redchilli powder and butter .
  • Mix thoroughly and add hot water and make a dough as shown.
  • It should be semi solid not too hard not too soft.
  • Heat oil and once it is hot , transfer a small ball of dough into the chatram .
  • Now press the dough and make patterns in oil carefully .
  • See that you dont spill hot oil on.
  • Once done with the dough , turn the janthikalu on both sides to check that they are fried well.
  • Fry them to golden red and put them on paper so that extra oil is absorbed .
  • Serve hot and transfer into air tight container to maintain the crispyness.
