JANTIKALU OR MURUKULU
INGREDIENTS
- Rice Flour - 3 cups
- Besan - 1 cup
- Vamu / ajwain - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1 tbsp
- Redchilli powder - 11/2 tsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Butter - 1 cup
PREPARATION
- Mix rice flour , besan ,vamu , salt and redchilli powder and butter .
- Mix thoroughly and add hot water and make a dough as shown.
- It should be semi solid not too hard not too soft.
- Heat oil and once it is hot , transfer a small ball of dough into the chatram .
- Now press the dough and make patterns in oil carefully .
- See that you dont spill hot oil on.
- Once done with the dough , turn the janthikalu on both sides to check that they are fried well.
- Fry them to golden red and put them on paper so that extra oil is absorbed .
- Serve hot and transfer into air tight container to maintain the crispyness.
