TOMATO CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS

Tomatoes - 6 - 7 nos

Tamarind puree - 2 tbsp

Mustard powder - 3 tbsp

Fenugreek powder - 2 tbsp

Salt - 4 tbsp

Redchilli powder - 4 tbsp

Oil - 4 tbsp

Redchillies - 4 -5 nos

Turmeric - a pinch of it

Mustard - 1 tbsp

Cumin - 1 tbsp

Uraddal - 1 tbsp

Chanadal - 1 tbsp

Garlic pods - 3 nos

PREPARATION

 

  • Wash and cut tomatoes to medium sized pieces.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil and add garlic pods fry to golden red and then add tomato pieces to it. Cook them soft adding 2 tbsp of tamarind puree .

  • Once cooked put off the flame and add mustard powder,fenugreek powder ,salt and redchilli powder along with turmeric. Allow it to cool off completely.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in apan and put tadka . Add 1/4tsp of asfoetida powder to it ,add curry leaves and set aside.
  • Once the tomatoes cool down grind to a fine paste and put this tadka on the chutney and mix well.

  •  

  • Serve as a side dish…
