SORAKAYA ( KADDU )PACCHADI / CHUTNEY
INGREDIENTS
- Sorakaya - 1 cup
- Tamarind - 1 tsp
- Urad dal-1 tbsp
- Chana dal - 1tbsp
- Asfoetida - 1/4 tsp
- Garlic pods -2 nos
- Green chillies - 4 -5 nos
- Coriander - 1/4 bunch
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 11/2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Redchillies - 5 -6 nos
PREPARATION
- Cut sorakaya into fine pieces of small size and set aside along with green chillies split along the length into two.
- Put popu or tadka and add the garlic pieces to that and allow it to cool completely.
- Parallely cook the sorakaya and green chilly pieces soft enough adding turmeric and salt .
- Once they are cooked allow them to cool completely.
- Then grind the popu or tadka into a fine powder and then add the cooked sorakaya pieces and a tsp of tamarind puree and chopped coriander.
- This chutney is tasty and can be served with rice or chapathi.
- Preparation time - 25min . Serves - 4 persons.
